Spoke too soon

One of us is an insomniac. I don't think I realized how bad it was until I tried to deal with jet-lag on top of insomnia, but Maddie does not sleep at night. She can sleep all day long, but not at night! I'm feeling for her and also for Morgan and I. Somethings got to change!

Went to Galway for the morning and lunch yesterday. Saw a soccer game last night. Today is a down day: swimming, Uno, town for lunch. Tomorrow is the big day. Caves of Aillwee and Cliffs of Moher.

We're here...and finally got to sleep!

We arrived in Dublin and after waiting an hour to get through immigration we were on a bus to Ballinasloe to the Carlton hotel. By the time we arrived EVERYONE really wanted to sleep, but it was 11 am here. My introduction to the room was Maddie meeting me at the door telling me we had to do something about the sleeping arrangement. We were hoping for three single beds, but ended up with a double and a single. Thankfully the front desk helped us out with a rollaway. There's a time for compromise and then there's a time for me to do whatever I can to appease the girls and their desire for their own bed! I definitely want the room to be a 'happy place!'

We are off today to Galway and then to watch the team play a game tonight. Haven't really seen too much exciting here in Ireland, but had a great time watching Morgan in the airport. She wore pants with metal rings on them and had to go into the separate room to be wanted and patted down. Needless to say, I won't be letting her wear those pants on the way home!

Maybe more later...right now I'm in Lee and Bridget's room helping to get the boys up and ready while my girls get their last minute sleep before we leave.

Less than an hour

We leave in less than an hour to drive to Chicago. I'm looking forward to leaving if only for the fact that there is nothing more I can do at home. After getting all the laundry done yesterday, One of our suitcases had some liquids that spilled on the guest bed where our house sitter is going to be sleeping. I stripped the bed (wet down to the mattress) and washed everything. The comforter was laid out over a chair while I dried the sheets. When I went to get the sheets this morning, I found that the stain did not come out...of anything! UGH I hate sun screen. Especially the spray bottles that people don't put the caps on. :) So, I've been rewashing the sheets and then making the bed with an old set of sheets.

I guess it just goes to show that when you think you have it all together, you don't.

The girls cousin is driving us to Chicago where we will have a little time to kill before checking in at the airport and then we have 3 hours in the airport before leaving.

Should be an interesting experience...

Ireland

We leave for Ireland on Wednesday. We are packing, cleaning, taking care of animals and hopefully will be packed and ready at 10 on Wednesday. I really wanted this trip to be an adoption present, and I guess it still is...we, however, are still waiting for our final hearing. All of our paperwork is in, its now just a scheduling issue. My hope for this trip is that it will be a great time for the girls to become more settled as part of the family.

In the meantime, I'm trying to make sure that I'm ready for school to start. We come home from Ireland on August 8th and I return to school on August 10.

I will try to update our experience while we are gone, so feel free to check back in.
